Subject: 2026 Annual Meeting & Board Election, Workshops & Rate Schedule
Hello current and prospective PNWTOA members,
Hope everyone is enjoying a great 2026 so far! As we prepare to move into spring, please mark your calendars for Wednesday evening April 8th at 7pm, when our annual member meeting will take place on Zoom. All current members will receive the Zoom link closer to that date to hear from the Board of Directors about the past year in review as well as give feedback on areas where you would like us to focus.
Also at the member meeting, we will set the list of candidates for the 2026 Board of Directors election. Like every year, the 3-year terms for 3 Board seats are expiring, and both new candidates, as well as those incumbents, have the opportunity to place their names on the ballot for this year’s vote, which will take place during the period between our April and May meetings. Dues must be paid up to vote in the Board of Directors election.
Anyone who is interested in running may reply to this email to indicate your interest, or you can throw your hat in the ring in person (on Zoom) at the April 8th meeting, or nominate a fellow member. For more information, see: https://pnwtennisofficials.com/about/board-of-directors/ .
The Board has recently finalized updates to the PNWTOA’s Schedule of Minimums. As you might be aware we no longer negotiate annual contracts with the USTA. We now have an Independent contractors agreement which must be signed before working for the USTA. The rate card is approved by USTA before you are assigned. It also gives you knowledge and some leverage power for any outside tournaments you may officiate in the PNW section’s hosted and directed events. This rate card reflects a number of increases over 2025 and we’re pleased that our assignors and others who set terms with events in our region have an even stronger position from which to secure fair compensation for our members. This rate sheet is attached to this email and this updated version will be posted soon at: https://pnwtennisofficials.com/tournaments/usta/ .
Finally, we are pleased to announce two in-person training opportunities in June: USTA workshops for lines (6/14 at Central Park Tennis Club in Kirkland, WA) and Advanced Officials clinic in PDX . This class is for officials 5 years plus and will be during the 4th quarter this year. Registration for these trainings is live through the USTA Officiating Learning Center at http://lrc.learn.taleo.net/ustaofficiating – log into your account there to sign up and reserve your seat.
As always, if you have questions or feedback about any of the above or are a prospective member interested in joining the PNWTOA, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any Board member for assistance.
Hope to see many of you on April 8th!
Thank you,
Holly Weyhrauch
