The Nicholas E. Powell Award recognizes an outstanding Official’s body of work done primarily at the community level. These Officials are the backbone of officiating in the USTA. Each year, the Pacific Northwest Tennis Officials Association recognizes outstanding contributions by officials to grassroots community tennis through the Nicholas Powell Award nomination at the National level. Nicholas Powel nominees are also the recipient of the “Glass Ball” Grassroots Award for the Pacific Northwest Section.
